I want to thank everyone who applied for a moose permit. I was very excited to find out that my name was finally drawn. I got Zone 4 which was my first choice so I cannot wait to get myself a moose. Wish me luck.

After just getting through the 3rd price increase in 7 months, Westrock announced a $50 per ton increase for July 15 and today PCA jumped on board with a $70 per ton announcement. I am sure other paper companies will join in soon, making late August another crazy time for us as our customers place orders to beat the increase.
Our new feeder for the JS flexo is on the way. It is in the port in Shanghai and is supposed to be picked up on Thursday. It will take about a month to get to Boston, then it must clear customs before arriving at Volk Packaging. The new feeder will make our JS flexo even faster and more efficient than it already is.
We have begun working on our 2022 pet calendar. If you have a dog, cat, or other pet that you would like in our calendar, reach out to Kara or me.
Now that COVID is somewhat behind us, we will be starting up our VP University The next 2 classes will be geared to the new VPC associates, but anyone can attend. I will be doing the class called Intro to VPC (kind of self-explanatory). It will be followed shortly by VPC by the Numbers. In this class I go through 26 years of sales data. You will get a great understanding about who our customers are and where they come from. Contact Kara or me to sign up.
This Thursday we will be hosting a Lunch and Learn at noon in the conference room. The topic will be how to best utilize the eye and dental insurance. Tori and Atoka need a count so please let them know if you plan to attend.
